Technology changes quickly; our Computer Engineering Technology program gives students a solid foundation in all aspects of computer technology so that they can adapt to changes in the field long after graduation. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering Technology program begins where the associate degree program leaves off. Students will further expand their knowledge in hardware and software aspects of computer and embedded computer systems. They will delve deeper into digital circuits, computer architecture, signal processing, and network programming. When they graduate, they will have a diverse range of career options.
The field of Computer Engineering is constantly evolving. BS.CPE students can choose up to six technical elective courses that apply toward their degree. This allows them to keep pace with their primary areas of interest while still adhering to a core set of classes. During the four-year program, students learn to analyze, design, implement, and troubleshoot both hardware and software systems, master a variety of programming languages, and build software. In the full-year capstone project course, they plan, manage, and build a system that incorporates much of the hardware and software knowledge they have gained so far. This experience gives them a solid foundation for launching their careers.

In addition to all of the Program Educational Objectives included in the associate program, the educational objectives for graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering Technology program include:
- Demonstrating knowledgeable in both theory and application and analyze, design, and implement electrical and computer systems and products
- Applying project management techniques to electrical/computer systems and qualify for positions of responsibility
- Demonstrating creativity in the design of systems, components, or processes by researching and developing multiple solutions to problems and using a variety of tools and techniques in their work
The Student Outcomes are for a graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering Technology to be able to:
- Select and apply the knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of computer engineering technology to broadly defined engineering technology activities
- Select and apply a knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to computer engineering technology problems that require the application of principles and applied procedures or methodologies
- Conduct standard tests and measurements; to conduct, analyze, and interpret experiments; and to apply experimental results to improve processes
- Design systems, components, or processes for broadly defined engineering technology problems appropriate to computer engineering technology educational objectives
- Function effectively as a member or leader on a technical team
- Identify, analyze, and solve broadly defined engineering technology problems
- Apply written, oral, and graphical communication in both technical and non-technical environments and to identify and use appropriate technical literature
- Demonstrate an understanding of the need for and an ability to engage in self-directed continuing professional development
- Demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to address professional and ethical responsibilities, including a respect for diversity
- Demonstrate a knowledge of the impact of engineering technology solutions in a societal and global context
- Demonstrate a commitment to quality, timeliness, and continuous improvement

Percent Job and Advanced Education Placement Rate in Computer Engineering Technology
Vermont Tech Computer Engineering Technology student outcomes are strong. The class of 2016 had a 100% job and advanced placement rate within six months of graduation. Many students have internships while they’re in college that lead to full-time employment after graduation.
